Dillon, Montana
One of the good things that we get to do here at Tracks of the StoneBear is to stop at the local town museums. This one was one of the best seen.
The Beaverhead County / Dillon museum is absolutely wonderful!!! and we've seen many local museums.
It's a history of the west... of the pioneer families that settled here... of Lewis and Clark... of the ranches.. of the families. This one is GOOD!!!
Hat's off for appreciation to the local historical society to preserve this much local history ... and display it in a small building. you did Good! Thank you!
This is right downtown next to the Railroad tracks... Hotel Metlan ... that were an important crossroads of the west.
Mining history... Mineral specimens... Railroad history... right there out back with an active Union Pacific engine switching ... doesen't get much more real than that.
Guns of the west.... many on display. Indian arrowheads, spears,.. clothing, artcraft.... very good displays. Take some time to see this.
